Favorites > Lists > TV - Movie tie-ins
We're talking Star Trek, Star Wars, Stargate SG-1, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, etc here. And most of these have a long, long list of books associated with them. But I'm going to make it easy - these are my favorite ones. Ones where the established characters are true to themselves, there are interesting new characters, the books are well-written, the stories engaging. I think the main value of such books is that they allow you to go deeper into your favorite characters, so that's a requirement too. Interestingly, the ones I've chosen are almost invariably written by writers who are either established writers before writing one of these, or have gone on to write other books.
At the moment, the list only includes Star Trek (of which I've got a ton - all "original" Star Trek, because when I was into this, that's all there was) and a few Star Wars (which my sons are into, and which I've read a selected amount). Though I love the TV show, I haven't read much Buffy, and Stargate SG-1, another of my favorite shows, has had few books to date (although this is changing, as a new U.K. publisher devoted to Stargate books has started up).
[As I said before, there's no point in reiterating a lot of description - Amazon does it so much better than me; so I've provided links (the images, or text links where no image is available) to the appropriate pages in Amazon.]
